We help young people gain the skills they need to shine bright

We are currently the biggest Scout Group in our District with ~250 members across ten Sections.

Welcome to Putnoe Scout Group

The Putnoe Scout Group is located north of Bedford and is part of the Bedford & Ouse Valley Scout District.

The Putnoe Scout Group was registered with the Charity Commission on 21st October 1976 and in 2009 Putnoe merged with the Goldington Scout Group and the Holy Cross Scout Group, forming the Putnoe & Holy Cross Goldington Scout Group.

In 2016, our name was simplified to Putnoe Scout Group, which is where our Scout Hut is located and after a vote by the young people in the Group, we combined the colours of all three founding Groups to make the unique neckerchief that now identifies us.

The St Andrews Scout Group joined the Putnoe Scout Group at the beginning of 2025 to ensure the continuation of Scouting at the historic Polhill Avenue Scout Hut. While honouring its rich history and significant contributions since 1956, the merger ensures that the legacy and spirit of Scouting will thrive at both Putnoe Heights and Polhill Avenue.
